tattoo designs

Is it hard to design a tattoo that can be added to over a period of years and still look good?

I have an idea of a tattoo I want and it will be one that will be added to over time, is this a reasonable idea? I don’t want it to look like multiple tattoos, rather to always look like one tattoo.
The one I have in mind is of a rose vine traveling up and around my leg and around my body till it ends over my heart. Only the last rose will be in full bloom. When you say touch up what do you mean?

How can I get a tattoo if my skin is constantly expanding from weight lifting?

I started lifting about a year and a half ago (the september after I graduated high school) and I gained over 60lbs of muscle. I have stretch marks all over and keep getting more. I want a tattoo, but how can I if my skin will grow stretch marks? Am I limited to only small tattoos?

What tattoo machine brand would be recommended?

I’m just starting tattooing and would like to buy all my equipments separately rather than from a tattooing kit. Something that really concerns me is how well a tattoo machine can cut. I was wondering if anyone knows of a good brand that’s durable/powerful/not too expensive(around $150 price range). Also any recommendations/advice on the model type as well as disposable tubes and needles. I’ll mostly be doing oriental/black and grey tats.

How much would it cost to get an upper back tattoo?

I’m planning on surprising my boyfriend by paying for his tattoo that he really wants.
He wants to get the tattoo on his upper back of the fiji mountains and the rising sun rays in the background.
I know that the cost of the tattoo is by hour but how much would it range to by the hour?
And i would like to know how much would get done in his tattoo?
Would they just do the outline of it?
Any information would help!
Thanks!

How soon is it safe to apply sunscreen to a new tattoo?

I have had my tattoo for a week, and it is doing beautifully! I have diligently followed the aftercare instructions my artist provided. My question is pertaining the use of sunscreen. The tattoo has peeled and is now sort of grainy/dry, but very clean, to look at. I have NO plans to be in the sun directly with it (I do not lay out or roam the beach, etc.), but I would like to know if sunscreen over the tattoo is appropriate yet for times when I may *indirectly* be exposed to the sun. These might include gardening, being in the yard, playing with dogs, going for a walk, etc. The tattoo is on my inner wrist, so it’s not “showing” all the time.

At this point, would a sunscreen be appropriate, or an irritant?
I purchased a Neutrogena SPF 30 stick of sunscreen that looks like a smaller version of a deodorant stick :) , and I’m not sure if the ingredients would harm or fade, or irritate my freshly inked tattoo. Could anyone with experience advise on this, please? Thanks so much!

What would happen to your tattoo if you lost weight?

I’m planning on getting a tattoo on the right side of my lower back. I was wondering if I lose around 30lbs, will it noticeably affect the tattoo?

What are some fun jobs for people with lots of visible tattoos?

Right now I’m a stay-at-home mom, but I’d like to get out and find a part time job to get out of the house for a bit. I have a great resume (I’ve done everything from retail, weather forecaster in the military, to welding car frames and desk work) but I have lots of tattoos and typically bright hair. I’m willing to tone the hair down, but I’d rather be at a job that’s accepting of my personal taste. Any ideas?
