It does depend on the artist (what they charge by and such).

• It usually depends on how long your tattoo artist will take to complete the tattoos by hour. The tattoo artist charges by either hourly or by minimum. 54 tattoos will take quite a while and you might have to get them in intervals and not all in one day. Also, coloring them all in may also take quite a while as well.
  I’d say the total costs of all his tattoos is well in the thousands region.

  I’m not of this opinion however. My husband and I are having a belated wedding ceremony/reception this autumn (as we had a very small private ceremony for immediate family this past winter) and I fully intend to show my ink with pride. My tattoos, however, are all black, gray, and red… where the colors of my wedding are ivory, black and crimson… so there isn’t a color-clashing issue. My husband is also a tattoo enthusiast, and sees my tattoos as a part of me, the woman he loves, and ergo they should be shown on the day that is intended to celebrate us, and our love. I think tattoos that are truly meaningful, which you accept as a part of your body, will never be something you’re looking to cover up. Often, I even forget I have them.

  my tattoos are a part of me, and if someone doesnt like them, they shouldnt look or better yet, come to my wedding. its going to be my day, and it will be how i want it to be!!

  In my case – I wanted to cover it up as my Mother is very old fashion and to have her last daughter married with a big tat which covers my left arm was something I did for her.
